Caterham # Chess Congress, 15th to 17th October 2010

Dear Chess Players,

The Caterham Congress is a 5-round event for adults and strong juniors. The Open section is again FIDE-rated with a place in the 2011 British Championship for the highest-placed player, not already qualified. There are also Major (Under 175), Intermediate (Under 150) and Minor (Under 125) sections. The prize fund, entrance fees and overall format are unchanged. Susan Lalic WGM replaces David Welch as Chief Arbiter and will be assisted again by Ryan Foster. There are no other major changes from last season's Congress.

Many thanks again to David Smith, the SCCU's County Match Controller, for not scheduling any SCCU inter-County fixtures, just announced, to clash with the Congress in about 6 weeks' time.

I attach an entry form and hope that it will be of interest to you. If so, please encourage at least another couple of players from your Club to enter so that you can also compete together for the Club Team prizes.

Best wishes
Peter Bayliss
Congress Director

Here is a list of FIDE registered tournaments in England. There will be a separate entry for each section of each event (e.g. Golders Green Rapidplay = 4 sections, 4 registrations). If you see any of mine missing, do let me know!

Scroll down to the bottom to access the archive of events.

Only games where at least one of the players has a published standard FIDE rating will be rated, and included in the rating calculations of the unrated player. Where both players are rated, the game will affect both players and will be included in the calculations for both players.
