Are you interested in teaching chess?

Are you interested in teaching chess?

We are looking to recruit several members to add to our team at Wallace Chess over the coming months.

The work would include teaching chess to groups of children, either in school time/after school chess clubs or at our holiday chess camps.

Your level of chess strength is a factor but more important is your ability to teach and to get along well with children. Thus if you think you would enjoy teaching but are not sure if you are good enough at chess, do apply and we can take it from there.

The work will be part time so would fit somebody already in part time work or a student.

Specifically we are looking for people with all of the following characteristics:

1) good with children

2) trustworthy, punctual and responsible/reliable

3) 14 years of age as a minimum - though preferably over 18. 14-18 years old can work as junior assistants

4) people that make a good, professional impression, as the will be representing the business

5) CRB police check preferred though not essential, however you will need to pass a CRB check

6) previous teaching skills - chess or otherwise preferred

Please send cover letter and CV with 2 references to office@wallacechess.com

Kind regards, Astrid Sund and IM John-Paul Wallace

Here is a list of FIDE registered tournaments in England. There will be a separate entry for each section of each event (e.g. Golders Green Rapidplay = 4 sections, 4 registrations). If you see any of mine missing, do let me know!

Scroll down to the bottom to access the archive of events.

Only games where at least one of the players has a published standard FIDE rating will be rated, and included in the rating calculations of the unrated player. Where both players are rated, the game will affect both players and will be included in the calculations for both players.
