In future, ungraded adults will have to enter the event in advance and have their entry verified by the organisers, or if they enter on the day they will have to play in the Open tournament.

Please note that if you don't collect a prize we don't send it on - you can pick it up at your next Golders Green event.

SPECIAL PRIZE - thanks to Angelo, manager of Charlie's Restaurant ( just over the road from Hendon Chess Club / Golders Green Church Hall, we have £30 in meal vouchers every month this year to award as special prizes!  If you are lucky enough to win one, we will send you a voucher.

For June 2011: Adam C Taylor won the Charlie's Pizza £30 voucher.

As usual, use the online entry form to be eligible for the discounted entry fee. Entry online or by post is £15.00, £14.00 for Juniors Under 16, all other entries will be charged £20.00 on the day (£14.00 for Juniors and members of Hendon Chess Club).

  • Bobby Fischer Against The World, Everyman, Hampstead.  It's a coincidence, but a fortunate one, that this documentary is being shown on the same weekend of the festival below.
  • Hampstead Summer Festival, 11-17 July - this is a typical Summer Festival featuring the usual stuff - but there is also chess!  Here is the programme, please email me if you want to register in advance for one of the simuls:

VENUE: HMV (what was HMV now an empty shop), 57-61 Heath Street, Hampstead, London NW3 6UG. Come out of Hampstead (Northern Line) underground and turn right up the hill - and there it is!

SATURDAY 16th July
11am: International Masters John-Paul Wallace, Lorin d'Costa and Angela Eyton from Heathside Preparatory School ( doing free coaching sessions and workshops for kids all day.
1pm: ECF President CJ de Mooi doing a simul (anyone is welcome) on Saturday 16th July from 1pm onwards and Lorin taking over from about 3pm if CJ gets tired!

SUNDAY 17th July
11am: International Master (and Australian Champion) John-Paul Wallace from http://www.wallacechess.comdoing coaching for kids and then a simultaneous display at 1pm open to all - just turn up.
- ChessBoxing displays further up Heath Street from Tim Woolgar, Rajko Vujatovic and guests -
- A Giant Chess set courtesy of Chess & Bridge - - throughout for all to enjoy!

Only games where at least one of the players has a published standard FIDE rating will be rated, and included in the rating calculations of the unrated player. Where both players are rated, the game will affect both players and will be included in the calculations for both players.
