Highgate Blitz #chess, this Wednesday at Forks Cafe

Format: The competition will be a six round swiss format tournament (all players will get six games, this is not a knockout). Each round will be played with a time control of 10 minutes each for the whole game.

Entry Fee: The entry fee is £8.00 in advance, or £10.00 on the night. Add £4.00 with your entry for a light meal or pay £5 on the night. You must complete the entry form, and then pay by PayPal. Prizes: 1st place £50, other prizes subject to entry but to include at least one rating prize. There will also be prizes of Chess on Toast DVDs for the players who most impressed the organiser! Thanks to Nick Murphy and Lorin d'Costa of http://www.chessontoast.com/ for their donation.

Rating: This event will be internationally rated by FIDE, and therefore all players without a rating are expected to provide a date of birth. NO ECF MEMBERSHIP NEEDED FOR THIS EVENT.


19-20 January: 3rd Hampstead FIDE U2200, 5 round swiss, All moves in 90 minutes each, Henderson Court, Prince Arthur Road, NW3 6NS, £200 1st, £100 2nd and two £80 rating prizes. Only games where at least one of the players has a published standard FIDE rating will be rated, and included in the rating calculations of the unrated player. Where both players are rated, the game will affect both players and will be included in the calculations for both players.
