The Major was won by Tom Middleton, Joao Santos and Natasha Regan with 5/6 and £50 each; 43 played

The Amateur by Harunobu Oyama with 5.5/6 (£100) followed by David Bluestone and Paul Fischer with 5/6 (£25 each); 41 played

187 people played in the event, and we think this is the largest and strongest event in London for decades and the success of which also led to a last minute panic - thanks to Malcolm Pein of Chess in Schools and Communities for lending us more clocks.

Thanks to Geoff Gammon, Matthew Carr and Tim Dickinson for their superb arbiting throughout the day, and Dave Clayton for the live games coverage, and Julian Hodgson and Lawrence Trent for their entertaining commentary, and Nick Murphy for being the MC.  Thanks to Kings Place for hosting us, and Stephen Carpenter and Peter Millican for the hospitality.  Thanks to the English Chess Federation for the loan of the equipment. Thanks to Ben Keohane for his performance in the Rotunda restaurant during the lunch break!

Here is a list of FIDE registered tournaments in England. There will be a separate entry for each section of each event (e.g. Golders Green Rapidplay = 4 sections, 4 registrations). If you see any of mine missing, do let me know!

Scroll down to the bottom to access the archive of events.

Only games where at least one of the players has a published standard FIDE rating will be rated, and included in the rating calculations of the unrated player. Where both players are rated, the game will affect both players and will be included in the calculations for both players.
