Golders Green Rapidplay Chess / Hampstead Congress / Highgate Blitz

This Saturday 13th July sees the regular rapidplay chess tournament at Golders Green.  Please register online and then pay by PayPal if you want to avoid any queues.  We get 100 players at this tournament, over four sections, suitable for any age or level of ability.  As usual you can see the results of all the events online on our website.

Next weekend, Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st July we have the monthly Hampstead chess congress for players Under 2200 / 190, five rounds of FIDE rated and ECF graded chess.  This attracts up to 60 players from all over the world, so early entry is advised if you want to be guaranteed a place.  It's right next to Hampstead Underground station on the Northern Line, and perfect for combining chess with a little tourism!  We have a new time control approved by FIDE, of all moves in 60 minutes each plus 30 seconds a move from the start of the game - this proved very successful last month.

PLUS if you want to play six games of internationally rated blitz chess in the sunshine why not try next week's Highgate Blitz, at Corks Cafe on Swain's Lane?  This takes place on Wednesday 17th July and starts at 7.30pm, your entry fee includes light food or drinks.  It's fun, fast and furious.

1. We have added a Golders Green Rapidplay date for Saturday 3rd August - put that in your diary!

2. Our Hampstead Congress in August is three days, six rounds, two rounds a day, TWO SECTIONS - Open and Under 1900 (160 ECF if you don't have a FIDE standard rating)

Here is a list of FIDE registered tournaments in England. There will be a separate entry for each section of each event (e.g. Golders Green Rapidplay = 4 sections, 4 registrations). If you see any of mine missing, do let me know!

Scroll down to the bottom to access the archive of events.

Only games where at least one of the players has a published standard FIDE rating will be rated, and included in the rating calculations of the unrated player. Where both players are rated, the game will affect both players and will be included in the calculations for both players.
